Legacy of Love
ABOUT THE LEGACY OF LOVE SOCIETY
The Legacy of Love Society has been created to honor those who have provided
for a gift to NAMI IOWA through their estate plans. These individuals have
named NAMI IOWA in their will or arranged a charitable gift in their estate
plan. Most have a family member or a friend affected by mental illness. They
have arranged for this generous act because they recognize how important
the presence of NAMI is in our state and wish to insure the existence of
NAMI in the future.
The Society’s name speaks for itself. By choosing to include NAMI IOWA
in your estate planning, you leave behind a legacy based on love for a close
relative, a friend, or for the work we do. This kind expression of generosity
will manifest itself many times in the name of love as it helps us to continue
providing education, support, and advocacy. With legacy funds, we can broaden
our programs, strengthen our resource library, and add staff—increasing
awareness of serious mental illness.
AN INVITATION
You are cordially invited to join the Legacy of Love Society. We proudly recognize
members in our state newsletters, in our annual report, and at organizational
events. Members also receive a small token of our appreciation and are included
on a Legacy of Love plaque displayed in our state office. The first 100 to join
will be charter members of the Society.
A Legacy of Love bequest allows you to create a link between life and death.
A gift to NAMI IOWA from your estate continues your support and belief in the
mission of NAMI—to improve the quality of life for thousands of Iowans
affected by serious mental illness.
